Back to College: must-have beauty products!

There are endless beauty supplies out there. For your hair, for your face, for your body. The list goes on and on. I haven't tried everything, but i have tried ALOT! Out of everything I've tried, these are the products I've found work the best and are absolute NEEDS when it comes to school and school preperation (really just everyday life!!):
FOR HAIR:
1. TRESemme Heat Tamer Spray- Apply before both blow-drying and applying direct heat (curling iron, straightener, waver, etc.) to hair to minimize heat damage. Makes hair feel softer and healthier all around!

2. ANY KIND of Detangler Spray- Apply preferably to wet hair before brushing/combing. Gives hair softer feeling regardless if your hair is actually that full of tangles. Plus, most come in scents that smell good!
***Not a must-have, but the Bedhead Wave Artist is an awesome hair waver! They are pretty cheap at Walmart and give very cute results. If you're looking for a way to switch up your hairstyle, this product is PERFECT!

FOR THE FACE:
--- Disclaimer: most of these products will be for acne prone skin, although I'm sure they would work just as well for skin that is not.
1. Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit Scrub- Apply to face in the morning and night. Not only does it smell good, but it also works to cleanse, revive, and protect. I've found scrubs work the best at actually getting to your pores and removing the dirt rather than "liquid" washes. Oil-Free quality is also a must with acne.
2. Mary Kay Blemish Control Toner- Apply after washing your face once per day. The toner contains 2% salicylic acid for medicated acne treatment. Reduces pore size and fights acne. (it's directed to only use once per day because it can be drying)
3. Velocity Lightweight Moisturizer by Mary Kay- Apply twice-a-day after washing your face. Very light so it doesn't clog pores, but keeps skin hydrated.
For at-college face issues:
***
Don't forget your powder! An oily face can creep up on you at any time, and it is not attractive!!

FOR THE BODY:
--- I'm not very big on body stuff. A good lotion and body wash is good enough for me. However, shaving is very important to me!
1. Schick Intuition Plus "Razor"- This product comes with a built in bar of soap around the razor so no shaving cream is needed. Available relatively cheap at any grocery or drugstore. *TIP: When using this razor, it is best to store out of the shower. I've found it "melts" the soap faster if kept in the shower while not in use.

Hope you find that these products work well, also! I'll definitely being using all of these as I prepare to go back to school this week. I'm not super excited about it, but with all of these products, I'll definitely be ready in the beauty aspect!
Enjoy YOUR COLLEGE year and take care of yourself!!

5 Things Every College Girl Needs in Her Bag – Day

As spring semester begins, we all have to adjust to new schedules, changing classes, and different books. Does the way you carried your things for fall make a seamless transition into spring, or does a back-to-back schedule mean you’ll now be toting your laptop all day long?
Whatever your situation this semester, you’ve got to have the necessities: ID, keys, and phone. Beyond that, though, there are a few other items CF girls should have on hand. Though these five handbag essentials are super basic, there are tons of fun fashionable options for customization. Check out our suggestions (and adorable picks!) for ideas and inspiration!

1. Notebook and pen.

If you’re going to classes, you probably already have a notebook and pen in your bag. These two items, however, are just as essential for time spent outside the classroom!
Mini notebooks are ideal for jotting down random ideas, making lists and schedules on the go, and for general distraction! Even if you can’t spare the space in your handbag for a notebook, a pen is absolutely non-negotiable! Have you had those times when you really wanted to write something down during the day (an e-mail address, website, whatever!) but couldn’t? Having a pen on hand in the same spot in your bag ensures that you’ll totally avoid those issues.

2. Mints or gum.

Anyone on the go can attest to the importance of keeping pack of mints or gum within reach. Both are excellent options for consumption pre and post lunch or for freshening up.
Mints are ideal for covering up nasty latte breath, can decrease tummy rumbles, and can even make a good “snack” (if you can call it that!) in your last-class-before-lunch pinch. Chewing gum can keep you awake and alert, remove stains from teeth, and as some studies have shown, increase brain function and memory.
Aside from mental and physical benefits, fun-flavored gum is a great mid-day pick me up! With flavor options ranging from classic mint to strawberry shortcake and mint chocolate chip to tropical fruit, if you’re a gum girl, there’s enough variety to last an entire year. Whichever breath freshener you choose, it’s an essential in your bag.

3. Hand sanitizer.

During cold and flu season (…which seems to be every season in college!) it’s always a good idea to have hand sanitizer in your bag. On an average day, we touch dirty doorknobs, use germ-filled bathrooms, encounter coughs and sneezes, prepare food and eat, and sit at tables and desks used by many, many students before us. And, since we’re constantly on the go, few of us have time to take a hand-washing break after each class.
The solution, of course, is ultra-portable hand sanitizer which uses alcohol or other chemicals to disinfect and cleanse as needed. Far beyond the days of Purel gel, manufacturers now often hand sanitizers in scented spray, lotion, and foam forms that do double duty by killing germs and moisturizing. An item that keep you pretty and healthy? A definite CF do!

4. Hair ties.

Have long hair? Keep a hair tie or two in your bag! They’re great for those moments when you decide you want to put your hair up on the go like going to the gym or keeping hair out of your face during an exam.
They also have many other uses – In a pinch, a hair tie can function as a rubber band to hold school supplies together, cinch regular bra straps into a racer back, or provide secure closure for an open bag or container. I’ve even heard of girls attempting to squeeze into their skinniest jeans creating an  accommodating “loop” with a hair tie woven through their button holes and then secured to the buttons for an extra inch!
From a fashion standpoint, many companies are making stylish alternatives to simple banded and scrunchy styles by offering bands that double as bracelets or hair accessories.

How to Dress for College

They said that this is the most exciting part of your life when you graduate from high school, and you are off to college. This is the point of your existence where you are going to make new friends and to choose your career in life.
It is also the time where you have got to get rid of your high school clothing style, put on a new trendy and a more mature outfit for college. So of course on your first day of class you would want to look nice and presentable. Since you are going back to school this fall you can go on wearing outfits that are in style and make a lot of heads turn as you strut along the alleys of your school.
College is a place where you don’t have to wear any particular uniforms so you can totally fashion out here. So we will be following the fall colors which will consist of purples, olive green, camel colors, reds, and grays. Let us go ahead and choose several outfits and start mixing and matching them. I suggest you also buy dresses and garments that have these colors. So purchase a lot of crimson, plums, tans or camel colored outfits.
Here are several looks that you can choose on:
Look no 1:
This is more of like a casual look: gray t-shirt and pair it with black skinny jeans. For your footwear, you can put on flat gray shoes and carry a gray or silver toned bag with you to amp your attire.

Look no. 2:
Put on a gray v-neck shirt with a black and white strip design, and over it have on a black open cardigan. You can also use a red jacket over this look. For your bottom wear, have on your blue jeans and for your foot wear put on black pumps. To complete this look carry a black leather bag with you.

Look no. 3:
you can wear white tank top then cover it with black casual blazer or you can use cardigans if you want, also you can choose the other color you like too. for the bottom wear you can choose some skinny jeans or jegging . and for shoes you can wear a ballet flat shoes or sneakers. and finally carry a hand bag and adjust the color or you can choose the neutral colors.

Look no. 4:
use a rectangular patterned shirt for the upper wear, then add a simple black vest or dark gray leather vest on it. put on a black long skinny jeans
and for the shoes you can choose some black patent leather shoes. ad for the bag choose a simple handbag or elegant backpack.
adjust the color with your wear. this is what we call simple but stylish look

Try it your self girls ;)

Styles of Shoes Every College Girl Should Own

Whether you’re the kind of girl who needs a separate closet for your shoes alone, or the kind who only buys a new pair when your fall-back flats have completely worn out, there are specific shoe styles that every college girl should own. Need an excuse to go shopping? Go through my checklist of the 5 pairs of shoes every college girl should own to see if you have them all, or maybe need a closet update:
1. “Career” Heels:
You might not have a job that requires more than tennis shoes right now, but college moves fast and you want to be prepared for possible internships, interviewing for scholarships or awards, and eventually interviewing for your dream job post-grad. Look for a well-made, comfortable, all-purpose black shoe with a low heel that you can walk around in all day without wanting to rip out your eyelash extensions. Higher quality will probably run you at least $50, but a shoe that will be worn to multiple occasions needs to be durable and comfortable.

2. Going-Out Pumps
From keg parties, to Hallowe’en dances, to cheap margarita pitcher night at the local bar, we always have a reason to go out. To look your best and get you in a partying mood, every college girl should own a pair of fun going-out pumps. Pick a heel height that you can handle: if you’re a supermodel-in-training go for the 4, 5+ inchers, otherwise stick to 3″ and below. Don’t worry about spending a lot of money on these shoes, you’re likely not going to wear them as often and want to update to the next trend in 6 months anyway.

3. Tall Boots
These can be worn for a night out on the town when the weather is chilly, to class, shopping, out to dinner: the options are endless and a great pair of tall boots can be truly versatile. The price range is up to you: if you want to go for a trendy look, like over-the-knee boots, aim for a less expensive pair, since they’ll be out of style sooner. If you choose a classic style, aim for higher price, and therefore higher quality boots that you’ll wear forever.

4. Ballet Flats
If you don’t already own 16 pairs of ballet flats (or even if you do) it’s time you grabbed a pair (or 12). These bad boys combine the best of all worlds: comfort, style, and practicality. You can wear these pretty much daily, to class or the mall, and even dress them up with tights and a nice dress for an evening look that won’t leave you blistered in the morning. The best part is, ballet flats are now so popular, you’re guaranteed to find a style that suits your taste.

You're currently a college student

You’re currently a college student, and you've noticed a problem that a lot of us college girls have: we don't know how to break away from that high school style and into a more mature look. You know you try, but you’re still stuck in a phase of Abercrombie and Hollister ensembles paired with Birkenstocks, Uggs or flip flops. So how exactly are you supposed to express the new, mature you through your clothes?

Getting dressed up does not mean wearing a backless top, skintight jeans, and a pair of super high heels. During the daytime, you'd start with a small change--swapping out your Uggs /Birkenstocks for chic ballet flats. You can buy an adorable pair at Target or Bakers. Or try switching out your zip up sweatshirt for a long, lean cardigan, or wearing a button-down shirt with a crew neck sweater on top. It's all in the details--it's fine if you want to wear jeans, but tuck in your shirt and add a belt. Think of Blair Waldorf's school ensembles for inspiration--a bit preppy, a bit polished, but never, ever, slutty! Please don't wear stilettos to class. For your first "grown up college girl" outfit, start with a pair of skinny jeans, ballet flats, and a long cardigan with a skinny belt around the middle. They're subtle changes, but you'll be feeling more sophisticated in no time!
